However, these are not the starting point of a good renovation.
First, you need to look at the dimensions of the existing bathroom, the location of drains, plumbing, flooring, ventilation and usable space.

A more functional bathroom is not always a larger bathroom
In a small bathroom, even a few centimeters matter.
A very deep sink cabinet can narrow the passage. A large shower may look nice but can unnecessarily reduce storage space.

With the shower, the drain location, floor height and slope are interdependent.

An important part of a good shower is invisible later
When the shower is completed, what the customer sees is tiles, shower channel, faucet and glass.
However, there must be a properly prepared base surface and waterproofing behind it.
Wall-floor joints, corners, pipe passages and the area around the shower channel are particularly points that require attention.
The slope of the shower floor must also be resolved before application.
Water should naturally reach the drain, but this should not create unnecessary level differences or poor tile cuts.
This is why we do not see waterproofing, drain, slope and tile application as independent tasks.
Tile distribution should be determined before the first tile is applied
In good tile work, it is not enough that the joints are straight.
How much tile will remain at the end of the wall, how the niche joints will connect and where cut pieces will be used should be thought through in advance.
Especially with large tiles, an incorrect starting point can affect the appearance of the entire wall.
This is why we try to create a balanced distribution by taking measurements.
The goal is not for individual cuts to stand out when you enter the bathroom, but for the entire surface to look calm and orderly.
Lighting and ventilation should not be left for last
A bathroom is an area used several times a day.
Insufficient light in front of the mirror or the entire area depending on only a single ceiling light can cause discomfort in daily use.
This is why general lighting and other necessary light points should be part of the bathroom plan.
Ventilation is equally important.
The moisture created after showering needs to be removed from the area. Whether the existing ventilation is sufficient or if a change is needed should be evaluated based on the current condition of the bathroom and the house.
Why is the order of work important?
A complete bathroom renovation project can generally proceed as follows:
demolition → water and drain plumbing → electrical and ventilation → wall and floor corrections → waterproofing → tiles → sanitary and furniture → silicone and final finishes
However, there is no one recipe for every bathroom.
What matters is that the infrastructure is truly ready before the next job begins.
For example, if the shower channel is not at the correct level, it is not right to proceed with floor application. Completing the tiles without clear electrical points may require intervention again later.
We don't have to completely demolish every bathroom
If the existing bathroom's infrastructure is in good condition and the layout is still functional, sometimes a more limited renovation may make sense.
New bathroom furniture, shower glass, some sanitary products or local tile work may be sufficient.
On the other hand, if the plumbing is old, several different areas will be renovated at the same time, or if the entire layout is changing, a complete renovation is often the more correct approach.
This is why we first look at what really needs to be done in the current situation? rather than "how much should we demolish?"
